Today you’ll be working in the AWS Cloud9
IDE.
To help you get hands-on as quickly as possible and to avoid installing any libraries on your machine, we will be using the AWS Cloud9 IDE
.
AWS Cloud9 is a cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) that lets you write, run, and debug your code with just a browser. It includes a code editor, debugger, and terminal. Cloud9 comes prepackaged with essential tools for popular programming languages, including JavaScript, Python, PHP, and more, so you don’t need to install files or configure your development machine to start new projects.

Let’s get started by creating an AWS Cloud9
.
We will be using the Sydney Region for this lab - please double check your cloud 9 environment is set to the AP-SOUTHEAST-2 region.
Open the AWS Cloud9 console.
On the Cloud9 splash page, click on Create Environment
.
You won’t see the splash page if you already have a Cloud9 instance, however, don’t re-use any instance that you have created and create a new environment.
Type the name of your instance - e.g. awsbuilder-cloud9
.
Leave the default setting and click on Next Step
.
Click on Create environment
and wait.
Cloud9 will provision your environment and it may take up to 5 minutes to complete.
Welcome to the Cloud9 environment :)
